India and Afghanistan will meet in a three-match T20I series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on September 13, 15 and 17.
The series is technically hosted by Afghanistan and is part of the Future Tours Programme. Afghanistan have continued to use India as a home base for selected international fixtures.
India enter the series with Shreyas Iyer as captain and a squad that offers several combinations. Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan provide wicketkeeping options, while Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi give the team a deep spin group.
One of the main selection questions will be how India manage Jasprit Bumrah, who was initially named subject to fitness clearance. The team also has Arshdeep Singh and Yash Thakur available in the pace department.
Afghanistan arrive with Ibrahim Zadran as full-time T20I captain and Naveen-ul-Haq back in the national setup after recovering from a shoulder stress fracture.
