Corrections & Clarifications Policy
Our standard for admitting, rectifying, logging, and noting factual errors across all CricBulls publications.
1. Commitment to Prompt Correction
When a factual error, numerical mistake, misattributed quotation, or misspelled player name appears in our reporting, CricBulls acts promptly to rectify the record. We do not quietly delete stories or scrub factual inaccuracies without proper editorial accountability.
2. Minor vs. Substantial Corrections
To maintain transparency while keeping reading experiences clear, we distinguish between two types of editorial corrections:
- Minor Corrections (Typographical): Minor typographical errors, grammatical slips, or minor formatting issues that do not alter the factual meaning of an article are corrected directly in the copy. The article's updated timestamp will reflect the change.
- Substantial Corrections: Inaccuracies involving player scores, match outcomes, team selection lists, direct quotes, or key factual claims require a formal correction note.
3. Correction Notes & Timestamps
When a substantial correction is applied:
- The article's Updated timestamp is refreshed to show readers exactly when the revision occurred.
- A visible correction note is placed prominently at the bottom of the article, detailing what was originally stated, what the verified fact is, and the exact timestamp when the correction was applied.
- In rare instances where a headline contained an error, the headline is updated and the correction note explicitly mentions the change.
4. Editorial Review Process
Upon receiving a correction notice or discovering an inaccuracy:
- The report is immediately routed to the author and the duty editor.
- The original source material, recorded press audio/video, or official scorecard is re-examined.
- If the error is substantiated, the correction is applied to the live article and version history is logged internally.
- Our senior desk logs the error in an internal quality tracker to prevent recurring oversights.
5. How Readers Can Report an Error
