Jasprit Bumrah is available for India’s three-match T20I series against Afghanistan after the BCCI’s updated squad listed him without the fitness-clearance condition that accompanied his original selection.
What changed in India’s squad
When India first announced the squad, Bumrah was among the players whose availability was subject to fitness clearance. In the later squad update, his name appeared without that condition. The same update confirmed Yash Thakur as the replacement for the injured Harshit Rana.
Series begins in Delhi
India and Afghanistan begin the three-match T20I series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on September 13, with the remaining matches also scheduled in Delhi on September 15 and 17.
Why Bumrah’s availability matters
Bumrah gives India an experienced pace option for the series, strengthening a bowling group that also includes Arshdeep Singh and Yash Thakur. His availability is especially significant as India manage workloads during a busy home and international schedule.
The BCCI’s latest squad update is the clearest official indication that Bumrah is available for selection for the opening match.
